create schema from sample?

How do I get xmldraft to create the schema from a sample xml file? I tried using import but xmldraft bombed out. Specifically, the Import XML Document window comes up and says:

Importing example1.xm
lblProgressTime
line

then a Windows popup says "xmlDraft, the Smart XML EDitor has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

Import actually works fine if I submit an XML file that xmldraft generated.

Perhaps there...

Xml sample generation

The feature to create an Xml sample based on an xsd could be really interesting for testing purposes. But then it would be necessary if the generation also takes into account elements with a referenced type, see example below. Do you already support this?

list index out of bounds (-1)

every time I attempt to change a property, i get the List index out of bounds (-1) in a popup dialg box. The value stays in the property window, but is not reflected in the xml.

Ok, this is probably a stupid question. How do I actually USE the xsd file I create?

xmlDraft beta issues

I have downloaded and started to play with this.

a few points

1. the help does not appear using either the Help menu nor help speedbutton

2. it is bvery easy to move the differnt parts of the windows around but very difficult to get them back togethr again. Any chance of a save layout button to help with this.
you could also try Automated QA Docking Library which is very nice.

3. in Tree View
right mouse click and go to XSD Properties
nothing...

Must haves items

I love the application, but it seems to be lacking several very important features:

There does not seem to be a way to sync between the tree (left) and the document (right). I'm basically having to search for items in the XSD document manually.

The enumeration facet doesn't seem to work....or it it does, I couldn't figure it out. I looked at the help file, but there was nothing there to indicate what to do.

I'm very new in xml stuf. I understand the xml schema is good and promissing. I do not understand just how I can use it in my needs. For example, for for "into xml" or "to xml" translations. Do I need some external tool, or I have to develope kind of translational (and verificational, of couse) program.

Problems with downloading

msxml3.dll error '80070005'

Access is denied.

/Downloads/PageData.asp, line 455

while pushing the "Download Now" button after the filling form at www.sysonyx.com/Downloads...ctBeta.zip page.
Can anybody help me?

Where do I begin

This is a back to basics q for sure.

Here's my idea. I want to create an outliner tool. I'm gonna write it in VB 6. XML looks like a great place to start. I'm planning on using XML to be the source documents of the outliner tool.

Now, I'm gonna have several different "types" of outlines. The types will all descend from a common type. I'm hoping to inherit the properties of the common type to serve as the basis for the other more speciallized types.

I read your WhyArchitect.doc last night and I installed your program today. Looks good so far.

How are things going with this program? Looks like it's got a huge potential. But from the latest date of the posts, it looks to be sleeping a bit.

I'm starting a fairly sizeable project. I don't know anything yet but I'm learning quickly. I'll try to be as active on this board as much as possible - I've got alot of questions.
